Privacy Policy

Last updated September 15, 2026

Steady ("the app") is built so that there is as little to say in a privacy policy as possible. We don't run servers for the app, we don't operate an account system, and we don't collect the data you track. This page explains exactly what that means.

What Steady stores, and where

Everything you enter into Steady — habit names, start dates, daily check-ins, relapse logs, notes, and settings — is stored locally on your device, in a local database that never leaves your phone by default. We have no server that receives, processes, or stores this information, and no way to access it.

Optional cloud backup

Premium users can turn on cloud backup. When enabled, your data is encrypted on your device before it is uploaded to your own iCloud (iOS) or Google Drive (Android) account — storage you control, governed by Apple's or Google's own privacy terms. We cannot read this backup: it is encrypted before it leaves your device, and we do not hold the keys.

Exporting and deleting your data

You can export a plain-text copy of everything you've logged at any time from Settings → Privacy, and you can permanently delete all habit and check-in data from the same screen. Both actions happen entirely on your device.

Accounts and identity

Steady does not ask for a name, email address, or any other identifying information to use the app. There is no login and no account system.

Purchases

Premium is purchased through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Those purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies — Steady only learns whether you hold an active entitlement, not your payment details.

Notifications

Milestone and check-in reminders are scheduled locally on your device using your phone's own notification system. No notification content is sent through a push server, because Steady doesn't operate one.

Analytics and advertising

Steady does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not track your usage of the app.

Children's privacy

Steady is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, since it does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future feature changes how data is handled — we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
